INSTALLATION STYLISTICS:
The strictly regulated form shifts the power of the works toward expression rather than specific representations. The deliberate abandonment of a background means that the central element of the works is a "tangle" of wire, from which emerge the outlines of human figures, presented incompletely. Isolating the figures and cutting them off from their surroundings allows for the focus to be on the gestures and behaviors they represent. Asceticism and the elimination of detail ensure that the final effect is the result of a limited form. Simplification broadens the possibilities for interpretation, while reduction enhances the power of expression. The work would make an excellent modern wall decoration in a living room or bedroom.
